When Fred Wardell founded Eureka in 1909, he had a hunch that it would be known for innovative products, so he named his company after an exclamation of great discovery. "Eureka" is Greek for "I found it". History credits the Greek physicist Archimedes for making the phrase famous. He took a dip in his tub, discovered the theory of water displacement, and shouted "Eureka!" Windsor Vacuum offers the Smart Vac, Quickup Broom Vac as well as the Eureka Hand Vac. These products are great on stairs as well as for cleaning hardwood, tile and carpet.

In the mid-1800s, Anna and Melville Bissell owned a small crockery shop in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Anna often became frustrated with the sawdust that was embedded in the carpet. Anna presented the problem to Melville, her mechanically inclined husband. He designed and constructed a carpet sweeper machine that he hoped would solve the problem once and for all. The design was a success. People soon began asking where they could purchase a carpet sweeper for themselves. The Bissell Carpet Sweeper was patented in 1876, and in 1883 the first Bissell manufacturing plant was built in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We offer the carpet sweeper in our store still day. It is great for quickly picking up small messes as well as cleaning high traffic area with out having to get out your full size vacuum.
